A wide variety of things must be extracted from the ground on any construction site, metal and wood form stakes, street sign posts, t-post fencing, string line rods, soil density probes, grounding rods, duckbills anchor drive rods, tent stakes, etc. and, with more than 50 models to choose from, there is a JackJaw® Extractor that is right for the job, making extraction faster, easier and safer.
Since 2008, more than 23,000 JackJaw® Extractors have been manufactured in Dayton, Ohio by Construction Accessories, Inc. and, they are used daily by thousands of very happy contractor customers. The patented gripping mechanism linked to a lever arm is the key and common feature of all JackJaw extractors. Major benefits to contractors are ease of use and elimination of back strain injuries of workers. The low, close to the ground, grip point of all JackJaw extractors allows form pins to be driven below the top of the form for quicker finishing of new concrete, and still easy extraction of the pins.
JackJaw Extractors come in three basic sizes of leverage. The size of the lever arm is dependent on the difficulty of the job at hand. Concrete form pins (metal and wood) and most t-post type fencing extraction require the smallest lever arm of 9 to 1 leverage, available on JackJaw Models 100and 200series. This means that a downward force of 100 lbs on the lever arm produces an upward force of 900lbs. Most street signposts, grounding rods and tent stakes require a 16 to 1 leverage, and these jobs yield easily to the model series 300 and 400 JackJaw extractors. For the toughest soil conditions and large item extraction, a super puller with 28 to 1 leverage (100 lbs downforce on the handle generates 2800 lbs upward force on post) is available on the JackJaw 500 series extractors.
All JackJaw products are made from sturdy, but lightweight steel construction and plated with Zinc and clear Chromate for long life and corrosion resistance. The jaws are made from case hardened steel alloy for durability.
